We applaud anybody taking a break from booze for dry July, but they really couldn’t have picked a more inconvenient month for it. There are so many exciting food and drink events happening this month we don’t know how we will fit it all in (or how anybody could resist).
We are particularly pumped about Eat Drink Love Ponsonby, a month-long festival featuring special menus, guest chef appearances and pop-up restaurants in the area. One of our favourite restaurants, Ponsonby Road Bistro, will be hosting Chef Anna Hansen from London’s The Modern Pantry. Anna will cook a multi-course lunch and dinner alongside her friend, ex-colleague and head chef of the bistro, Sarah Conway. The courses will be matched with Ata Rangi wines which will be presented by the winemaker herself, Helen Masters. We’ve had a sneak peak at the menu and can tell you it is fresh, inventive and global in influence, just like everything at Ponsonby Road Bistro. Book your tickets here.
As part of the festival we will be hosting two cooking classes at The Sapphire Series, alongside other workshops, seminars and tastings held by some of our favourite people in the biz. If you have missed our previous classes and want to become a master of fresh, handmade pasta; or learn how to make delicious curry and Indian flatbreads, then please come along. We would love to see you.
