Celebrate Coco's and support Stone Soup

If you are anything like us, you’ll spend much of your spare time consuming food media in all its various forms. We are the kind of people who would happily spend an afternoon watching reruns of Rick Stein or Nigella; who read heavy cookbooks on the couch like they are novels; and probably spend a few too many hours of the day talking and thinking about food.

We are partial to a good food podcast too, and are particularly fond of The Spinoff’s Dietary Requirements. We may be biased because our own Sophie Gilmour is a co-host, but it seems we are not the only ones who enjoy it. A couple of weeks ago the podcast picked up an award for best food broadcast at The Foodies, an awards night that celebrates local food media. Congratulations team!

We are big supporters of independent food mag Stone Soup and everything it stands for. Funded by its readers through Press Patron and completely free of advertising, it’s full of inspiring stories about growing, harvesting, catching, farming, preserving, cooking and sharing food. You can read past issues, become a supporter, or just find out what it’s all about on their website, here.

Coco’s Cantina is also a fan of Stone Soup, and as part of their tenth birthday celebrations will be holding a fundraiser for the magazine on Tuesday September 24th. Tickets are $60 per person for a casual, fun three-course shared dinner, which includes a pasta making demo by Delicious Business and a Stone Soup goodie bag with Milmore Downs organic New Zealand flour to make your own. Book your spot by contacting info@cocoscantina.co.nz

Thanks to all those that came to our classes at The Sapphire Series, we had so much fun and are busy planning what we will do next. If there is a culinary skill you would like to acquire in the lead up to party season, or anything else you would like to see us do, please get in touch and let us know. We would love to hear from you.
